Newton Public Schools is requesting parent feedback on the EarlyBird literacy screener. This tool is currently used in NPS Kindergartens to identify reading levels for all students. It also assesses a range of skills that are important for identifying or predicting issues with reading (e.g., naming speed, sound/symbol correspondence, phonemic and phonological awareness, oral language comprehension, phonics, word reading).

Please review the sample report (link below) and email comments, questions, or concerns to newtonliteracy@gmail.com. Let's let NPS know how understandable and useful this tool is from the parent perspective!
